Financial literacy course


Many Íslandsbanki customers have expressed the view that the bank should provide training in financial literacy for the general public. To meet this need, Íslandsbanki has launched a financial literacy course in partnership with the Reykjavik Open University. The instructors are Þór Clausen, MSc in Finance, and advisors from Íslandsbanki.

The aim of the course is to provide advice on most aspects of household finance. The participants will learn about savings, loans, the household balance sheet, household budget planning, investing, pension savings, etc.

The courses are open to all and held at the Open University at the premises of Reykjavík University, Ofanleiti 2, Reykjavík. The duration of each course is three hours and the course fee is ISK 1,000 or 1,000 premium points in Íslandsbanki's Premium Club (Vild, Gullvild or Platinum).

Íslandsbanki Premium Club members wishing to pay with premium points must place a check mark in the C box on the registration page and write "Íslandsbanki" in the text field as shown in the picture below.
