International money transfer works well in Islandsbanki

Due to media coverage for the past weeks on International money transfer in Iceland, Íslandsbanki wants to clarify that the bank has been using its currency accounts at JP Morgan, Danske Banka, Svenska Handelsbanken, SEB and Commonwealth Bank of Australia to transfer money for its clients since the beginning of 2009. All international money transfer by Íslandsbanki is executed without the assistance of the Central Bank of Iceland.

Foreign currency exchange and International money transfer has been working well for the past 3 months due to the fact that Islandsbanki´s employees have established solid relations with foreign commercial banks. Today, Islandsbanki has over 200 SWIFT-key relationships with foreign banks, estimated to grow for even further.

Furthermore, Islandsbanki has simplified international SWIFT transfer orders to Iceland. The purpose is to insure the reliability of all money transfer and that it is executed as quickly as possible.
