Dr. Daniel Levin appointed to the Board of Directors of Íslandsbanki
Dr. Daniel Levin was elected to the Board of Directors at an extraordinary general meeting of Íslandsbanki held today. He is replacing Raymond Quinlan which was recently hired as an Executive Vice President at CIT Group in the US. Quinlan is now a member of the Board of Glacier Securities, a subsidiary of Íslandsbanki in the US.
Dr. Levin, a US and Swiss national, is an attorney at law with expertise in corporate and state governance. Dr. Levin has furthermore been advising governments and development agencies globally in the development of financial and capital markets, and has been working closely with supervisory agencies and regulators on the implementation of ethical and corporate governance standards for financial institutions. He has represented corporate and sovereign issuers and borrowers as well as commercial and investment banks in the US capital markets. .
Additionally, Dr. Levin is a member of the Board of the Liechtenstein Foundation for State Governance that provides knowledge to countries worldwide in order to facilitate political, economic and social development.
Dr. Levin holds lic.iur. (J.D.) and Dr.iur. (J.S.D./Ph.D.) degrees from the faculty of Law of the University of Zürich, Switzerland, and an LL.M. degree from Columbia University School of Law.
Apart from Dr. Levin, the Board of Directors of Íslandsbanki consists of the following six members: Fridrik Sophusson, Chairman, Árni Tómasson, John E. Mack, Kolbrún Jónsdóttir, Marianne Økland and Neil Graeme Brown. All of the Board's members possess extensive experience in management, strategy and business practices of financial institutions.
