On August 24th the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon will take place for the 30th time. The Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon has become the single biggest sport- and family event in Reykjavík with more than 13 thousand participants running different distances.

All runners registered for the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon can run for a good cause. Collection of donations takes place on the web This week an english version of the web was published to give international runners the possibility to take part.
Since 2007 participants in the Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon have been able to run for a good cause. Millions upon millions have been donated and over a hundred charities benefit from these donations.

In the year 2012 a record of 45.987.154 ISK were collected via for 130 charities.
