VÍB in partnership við BlackRock

13.01.2014
VÍB, asset management services of Íslandsbanki, has signed a distribution agreement with BlackRock, the world´s largest asset manager. The partnership increases the wide variety of products and services supplied by VÍB in the field of asset management services in foreign markets.

Black Rock offers a very wide range of products and services in the areas of asset management, covering six continents, equity funds, bond funds, commodity funds, real estate and other specialized funds. Due to capital controls only customers who own foreign assets or have authorization to reinvest in foreign securities have the opportunity to invest in BlackRock. The partnership is part of the wide range of service which VÍB has to offer customers which will hopefully soon benefit all customers of VÍB when capital controls will be lifted.

BlackRock is the largest asset manager in the world with about 3,800 billion USD under management and operations in 30 countries. Black Rock employees are over 10 thousand worldwide and among their customers are many of the largest pension funds and insurance companies in the world. BlackRock has extensive expertise in asset management and investment and has shown good long-term success in the field.

Stefan Sigurdsson , Managing Director of VÍB :

"I'm very proud that BlackRock, one of the largest and most respected asset management entities in the world has chosen us as a partner in Iceland. We certainly hope that it is not long before the Icelandic depositors and institutional investors can utilize the services of BlackRock and VÍB abroad. "
