A new self-service ATM centre in Kringlan

15.07.2014
Kringlan branch has been transformed into a new ATM Service Centre. Located on the 1st floor of Kringlan shopping centre, these new ATMs, will allow customers to do most of their day-to-day banking activities, e.g. withdraw cash, make deposits, transfer between accounts, make balance enquiries and pay bills.

While the new ATMs are being introduced, two employees will be on-site to answer questions and assist customers as needed. This development follows on the back of Íslandsbanki´s highly popular online and mobile platforms and is in line with the Bank´s multichannel strategy to further improve self-service options for customers and thus increase efficiency.

An automated, self-service coin counting and processing machine will also provide customers with convenient means to quickly and easily sort loose change and deposit it into their Íslandsbanki accounts.

Una Steinsdóttir, Managing Director of Retail Banking:

"This step towards self-service ATMs clearly reflects our multichannel strategy to simplify banking and increase efficiency. Our objective is to have our manned branch network function as specialised advisory centres on a more complex product range, while the call centre, online and mobile will cater to simpler transactions and self-service. Transforming Kringlan branch to a self-service ATM centre was a logical first step in that direction as the vast majority of its customers’ banking activities were simple and easily replaced with self-service.
