Record sign up for the Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon

Registration for the 2014 Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon is in full swing here at marathon.is. 7.880 participants are already registered for the race, 7% more than at the same time last year.

A registration record in the marathon (42,2 km) has already been set. 1.037 runners have registered for the distance but the old record was 977 and was set last year.

The 10 km race is the most popular distance. More than half of the registered participants are planning on running it or 4.103 people. You can also choose to run a half marathon, 3 km fun run, LazyTown Run and a marathon relay race.

More than 2.000 runners from abroad from 60 different nationalities have registered for the 2014 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon. Most of the international runners come from USA, 468 people, and second most from UK, 353 people. Also 219 Germans have entered, 193 from Canada and 106 from Norway.

On-line registration here at marathon.is ends on Thursday August 21st at 13:00. Registration is also possible at the race EXPO but then the entry fee will be higher.
