Rut Gunnarsdóttir as Compliance Officer

Rut Gunnarsdóttir has been engaged as Compliance Officer at Íslandsbanki. She has held the position of Deputy Compliance Officer since 2010 and now takes over from Kristinn Arnar Stefánsson, who served as the Bank’s Compliance Officer for eight years. 

Before joining Íslandsbanki, Rut worked for eight years at the Financial Supervisory Authority, focusing on securities, pension fund, and insurance supervision. Rut graduated from the University of Iceland Faculty of Law with a cand.jur degree in 2000 and was admitted to the bar as a District Court Attorney in 2003. She earned an MBA from UIBS in Barcelona in 2007, specialising in investment banking operations, and passed the securities trading examination in 2008. 

Rut is married to Jón Örn Guðbjartsson, Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Iceland, with whom she has three children.
