Íslandsbanki’s Laugardalur branch

Íslandsbanki’s Kirkjusandur branch will merge with the Suðurlandsbraut branch at the beginning of 2017, as a result of the move of Íslandsbanki’s headquarters from Kirkjusandur to the North Tower this autumn. In coming months, the Suðurlandsbraut branch will be redesigned, and it is planned that the Kirkjusandur branch will move there in January but remain in its present location until then.

The branch will be called the Laugardalur branch. and its design will reflect the changed emphasis in the Bank’s services, which focus increasingly on advice from Bank staff and self-service facilities for simpler transactions.

The Laugardalur branch will be close to the centre of Reykjavík and will provide individuals and businesses the same high-quality service as before. The merged branch will be under the direction of branch manager Björn Sveinsson and assistant branch managers Vilborg Þórarinsdóttir and Þórður Kristleifsson. Dröfn Guðnadóttir will be customer relations manager for individual customers.

This change and the planned merger in the North Tower will bring the number of Íslandsbanki branches to 14.

Una Steinsdóttir, Director of Retail Banking:

“We view these changes as an opportunity for Íslandsbanki to fulfil the changed requirements that customers make of financial services. The branch will be a progressive one, and we look forward to providing sound professional services in a new branch.”
