IS Funds offers new international investment fund

IS Funds has established a new international investment fund called  IS Private Global Fund, which is open to all investors and savers. The fund is particularly suited to those taking their first steps in foreign investment. The fund's main investments will be in global mutual funds, foreign equities, bonds and deposits. The fund managers place strong emphasis on sound asset diversification in global markets. IS Funds is a mutual and investment fund management company with 18 years’ experience of foreign investments. The company works with a large number of other fund managers, including the Vanguard Group, BlackRock, and DnB. Sigurður Guðjón Gíslason, a fund manager with over a decade of experience, is the manager of the IS Private Global Fund.

Kjartan Smári Höskuldsson, Managing Director of IS Funds:

“Individuals are finally offered the opportunity to invest in foreign securities for the first time since the capital controls were imposed in 2008. For eight years, nearly all of Icelander’s’ savings have been in domestic assets, but now individuals are authorised to invest abroad for up to ISK 100 million per person. Broad diversification is essential in long-term saving, and it is therefore important to place a portion of the portfolio in foreign investments. In addition, historical returns indicate that foreign equities should weigh at least as much as domestic equities in a mixed portfolio. “
