Íslandsbanki hf. Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all activities, employees and officers of Íslandsbanki hf., as well as any persons contracted by the Bank to provide specific services.

This Code of Conduct is intended to serve as a guideline for day-to-day activities in the best interest of the Bank and its customers. It is also intended to maintain and strengthen the Bank's reputation and credibility.

We are professional

We are professional in our work and honest in our communication with customers, co-workers and other interested parties.

We only offer services which we are able to provide and do what we say we will do.

We familiarise ourselves with and comply with the laws and regulations which govern the Bank's activities as well as the internal rules established by the Bank.

We are respectful towards customers and co-workers and maintain standards of fairness and equality in our work. We do not discriminate against anyone on unlawful or unfair grounds, such as gender, race, national origin, religion or political views.

We do not participate in work or projects which could damage the Bank's reputation and credibility.

We minimise the risk of conflict of interest

We disclose any matter which may give rise to a conflict of interest in our work. We inform our superiors of any matter which can affect our independence, impartiality or duty to the Bank and its customers. When a conflict of interest arises, we address it in accordance with the Bank's conflict of interest policy. We do not accept or offer gifts, favours or other benefits which are likely to affect our independence or impartiality and which are not consistent with the Bank's policy on gifts and complimentary trips.

We maintain confidentiality

We are bound to keep in confidence any matter relating to the circumstances of customers and other matters which may come to our knowledge in the course of our work and which are confidential by nature. We do not use information which we obtain in the course of our work for our own benefit or the benefit of our relatives.

We provide accurate information

We make every effort to provide customers with accurate, clear and reliable information and ensure that any information contained in marketing and promotional material meets these standards, and we show special care in the production of advertisements and promotional material relating to children.

We set a good example

We conduct our work and interaction with customers and co-workers in a way that sets a good example for others.
